Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced

AML Junior Team Leader

to oversee AML operations and support the Account Management team. This role is ideal for a senior AML professional who can manage complex client portfolios, guide junior staff, and take ownership of compliance delivery. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between management and the AML Account Managers.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and support AML Account Managers in day-to-day compliance activities. Oversee client onboarding, CDD, EDD, and periodic review processes. Review and approve AML documentation, risk assessments, and compliance reports. Ensure timely identification and escalation of suspicious transactions and high-risk cases. Act as a senior point of contact for key clients on AML/CFT matters. Assist in workload allocation, performance monitoring, and mentoring of team members. Support management in improving AML frameworks, policies, and internal controls. Coordinate with banking partners, regulators, and external stakeholders when required. Stay up to date with UAE AML laws, Central Bank circulars, and FATF recommendations. Take initiative in identifying compliance risks and process improvements.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum

5 years of experience

in AML/CFT compliance and client handling (

mandatory

). Prior

banking or financial institution experience is preferred

. Proven ability to lead, guide, or supervise a team. Strong understanding of UAE AML/CFT regulations and international standards. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Law, or related field. AML certifications (CAMS, ICA, or equivalent) are highly desirable. Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. Strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and accountability. Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
