Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

The Affiliate Marketing Manager will lead the Affiliate Marketing team within the Performance Marketing & Online team, reporting to the Digital Marketing Senior Manager, to positively impact the the organsisations eCommerce business and customer experience.

This role has responsibility and accountability for the management of all link-based Affiliate Marketing within eCommerce including the campaigning and trading of these activities, the development of strategy, the management of media partner and external relationships, and the development of the team.

Through the management of paid media through Affiliate Marketing channels this role has responsibility for the management and efficient use of marketing budget, working closely with the Senior Performance Managers and other budget owners in the Performance & Online Marketing team to deliver the eCommerce P&L.

This role:

  • Leads the Affiliate Marketing team, working within the Digital Marketing team reporting to the Digital Marketing Senior Manager.
  • Is solely responsible and accountable for the management, development and performance of the Affiliate Marketing channel and team within eCommerce.
  • Works seamlessly with Senior Performance Managers, other Digital Marketing channel managers and brand teams to deliver the business plans for eCommerce brands.
  • Is responsible for the management of marketing budgets (franchise costs) to deliver channel and overall brand and business ROI targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

Trading

  • Manage and develop the Affiliate Marketing channel to support and achieve each brand’s eCommerce Business Plan and the Business Plan for total eCommerce.
  • Plan and manage the Affiliate Marketing budget, as part of the total eCommerce marketing spend and in close conjunction with the Acquisition Senior Manager, to meet marketing channel targets, eCommerce ROI targets and deliver the P&L.

Campaigning

  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns across eCommerce Affiliate Marketing networks and affiliates as per each brand campaign plan and working with Senior Performance Managers and brand partners, to best reach, engage and convert customers and deliver the P&L.
  • Continuously review and optimise all aspects of campaign performance to improve channel KPIs including but not limited to CPC, CPS, CPO, CPA and ROI.
  • Work with the design team, content teams, brand team, other internal stakeholders, and external partners, to create engaging advertising copy and content to improve the customer experience and media performance via CTR and other marketing metrics.
  • Lead on quality control and performance across all Affiliate Marketing activity, including but not limited to the review of affiliate profiles, the recruitment of affiliates, and the pre-launch review of campaigns and content.
  • Carry out regular post campaign reviews with internal and external partners to understand the key drivers of performance and to identify areas for improvement.

Growth

  • Support the continuous growth of the organisations eCommerce through the acquisition of new customers and the delivery of revenue.
  • Tirelessly develop and evolve our Affiliate Marketing strategy and program to improve commercial performance, quality of content, customer experience, our internal and external partner relationships, and the overall profile of the team and channel.
  • Work closely with peers in eCommerce Influencer team, to migrate and leverage shared relationships across Influencers and Affiliates to deliver the best combined performance.
  • Work with our MarComm counterparts in the brand planning and strategy team to execute fully aligned ‘full funnel’ marketing campaigns and drive incremental, mutual benefit from our collaboration across Brand and eCommerce teams.

Key Skills

  • At least 4 years of working in Affiliate Marketing within an eCommerce business to drive awareness, lead generation, conversion, and customer acquisition.
  • Strong understanding and experience applying data and complex digital marketing tactics to target and retarget customer audiences across the marketing funnel to deliver performance objectives.
  • Strong understanding and experience of how to leverage Affiliate network relationships to grow Affiliate programs and drive customer acquisition and revenue to meet channel and company objectives.

  • Strong understanding and experience of mobile and app marketing, to achieve install, engagement and conversion goals.

  • Experience working within a hypergrowth environment in fast paced and digitally mature business.
  • Expertise with enterprise web analytical and data tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Adjust, Firebase, Magento etc.)
  • Analytical and numbers driven, able to make fact-based recommendations from complex data and turn insight into action.
  • Strong understanding of all digital KPIs controlling eCommerce performance.
  • Strong commercial acumen and awareness of how to affect profit from any given activity.
  • Ability to react to change and make smart, fast decisions.

  • Ability to build relationships and to influence across teams and career levels.

  • Outstanding presentation skills and the ability to show complex issues in an engaging way.
