Job Description

The purpose of this position is to supervise and lead a number of line maintenance teams to provide comprehensive engineering and maintenance services covering the AFC, CCTV and repair shop for Dubai Metro.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and give guidance to a number of AFC, CCTV and repair-shop engineering and maintenance teams in carrying out all level of preventive and corrective maintenance activities and minor modifications on the AFC system, including Automatic Gates, Ticket Vending Machines, Ticket Office Machines, Central Control, CCTV and AFC system related components.
  • Assist AFC Manager in the AFC system maintenance works planning and logistics.
  • Follow the appropriate maintenance procedures and work instructions to ensure compliance with the requirements.
  • Assist subordinates with the job familiarisation where required.
  • Give guidance to AFC Team Leaders to maintain accurate maintenance records of AFC system, equipment performance, work accomplished and other information using a computerised maintenance management system.
  • Provide technical support to other staff for the implementation of complex systems or new projects.
  • Carry out 24-hour on-call responsibility for incidents and emergency within its section.
  • Perform shift and emergency duties when required.
  • Drive work vehicles when responding to emergencies and when required on duty.
  • Perform and carry out duties as instructed/ directed by the AFC Manager.
  • Keep an eye on CFA KPIs and ensure proactive action in coordination with AFC Team Leader and Technicians.
KEY SKILLS
  • Thorough understanding of the use, calibration and care of various electronic test equipment and ability to interpret instructions in a variety of written, verbal, pictorial forms in order to carry out the maintenance activities as required.
  • Ability to compile technical reports, routine business correspondence, prepare method statements and drawings as required.
  • Possess good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organisational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Thorough understanding of all aspects of safety issues related to railway operations.
  • Preferably hold a valid UAE driving license with good driving skill and experience.
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in the field of electronics/Computer science/information technology/electrical or mechanical discipline in maintaining and repairing automatic fare collection system covering Automatic Gates, Ticket Vending Machines, Ticket Office Machines, Central Control, AFC system and CCTV related components, is highly preferable.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory and management experience in managing a technical support team with an aim to minimise the system and equipment down time and asset life cycle costs of the automatic fare control system.
EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFCATION
  • Vocational trade certificate/diploma/degree in Electronics/Computer science/information technology/electrical or mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent.
