Description

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide an exceptional applicant experience and strive to continuously improve service delivery
  • Monitor and review key performance indicators ensuring that application and offer making response times are met
  • Regularly communicate with others, for example producing and presenting reports and explaining policies and procedures
  • Apply working knowledge of policies, procedures and systems, providing an expert point of guidance
  • Work closely with the team to coordinate the day to day processes and prioritisation of tasks to ensure deadlines are met and the work is of a high standard
  • Review applications and make decisions based on agreed entry requirements, referring to academic staff where appropriate
  • Take ownership of the fee status assessment process ensuring that decisions are taken in line with Fees Regulations and that you are up to date with changes to regulations
  • Act as the lead person for all matters relating to international qualifications, ensuring that qualifications are benchmarked appropriately and you are up to speed with emerging markets
  • Work closely with the Regional Recruitment Manager- International to ensure smooth and efficient ways of working with international recruitment teams
  • Be the lead contact person for regional teams, ensuring that communication channels are effective and information and guidance is being shared
  • Lead on the admission processes of direct international and international partnership students, optimising the experience of applicants and partners
  • Take on the line management of team members, providing support and identifying training and development needs
  • Use initiative to resolve problems which arise such as resolving issues regarding processes and workload and resolving applicant issues
  • Manage projects and contribute to longer term planning within the area as part of the local management team
  • Liaise with colleagues and participate in networks to pass on information promptly. For example participating in internal and/or external forums to share best practice
  • Provide support to university events including Open Days and Admissions Days
  • To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required by the Head of Prospect Experience.
Education, Qualifications & Experience:

Essential
  • Educated to first degree level or equivalent or equivalent practical experience in the workplace
  • Experience of working within a similar environment as outlined above
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Detailed knowledge of overseas qualifications
  • Ability to coach, motivate, assess and manage team members, including setting objectives
  • Competent in the use of relevant IT packages (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook) including student record or CRM systems
  • Proven relevant experience in higher education administration which will have been acquired over a number of years, with a basic understanding of the relevant theory
  • Good knowledge and understanding of relevant legal, statutory and and best practice within Higher Education and turning them into good practice
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and presentation skills, able to understand and communicate complex issues effectively
  • Demonstrable excellent customer service
  • Demonstrable ability to work quickly, flexibly and accurately in a dynamic, changing and pressured environment
  • Experience of working closely with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to research, analyse and present complex information effectively with good attention to detail
  • High level organisational skills with the ability to prioritise major developments and to function effectively in a pressured environment
  • Demonstrable professional and proactive approach
  • Evidence of performing and delivering to targets
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
