Job Description

Our University is looking for Admissions Counselor who will support the admissions function, processing applications and conducting assessments in line with defined procedures, processes, policies and regulations of the University. Education, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualifications or experience.
  • Experience in assisting and communicating effectively with students in a timely manner.
  • Experience in working with admissions within the HE sector Successful experience of providing impartial advice and guidance to students
  • Experience of using databases to store, manipulate and retrieve information.
  • Experience of providing a responsive, customer-focused service - on the telephone, via electronic medium and face-to-face.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • To support the admissions function, processing applications and conducting assessments in line with defined procedures, processes, policies and regulations.
  • Responsible for progressing your work activities independently, whilst also ensuring that you work in a coordinated way with BCU RAK Campus colleagues.
  • To assess applications and support admissions process for undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes following agreed criteria and procedures.
  • To deliver first-class admission and recruitment service for the University's applicants, offering professional advice directly to applicants, whilst ensuring quality and standards are maintained.
  • Assisting students in universities, colleges, and high schools to help them prepare for, select, and get into schools.
  • To professionally advise and counsel and provide relevant information to applicants, and relevant stakeholders, to enable applicants to make informed decisions
  • Highlighting the benefits of specific programs and courses in order to attract students and encourage diversity on campus.
  • Helping students choose courses and extracurricular activities that will help them get into their chosen careers after graduation.
  • Collaborate with parents/guardians to assist students with educational and career planning
  • Staying current with school admission processes and requirements, programs and courses, and developments in education and financial aid.
  • Improves quality results by studying, evaluating and re-designing processes and implementing changes
  • Organizing recruiting events and representing University at college fairs, high schools, and other promotional opportunities.
  • Conducting interviews, reviewing application materials, and assisting in the admissions decision-making process.
  • Arranging campus tours and conducting information sessions.
  • Maintaining accurate and current knowledge of educational legislation, trends, developments, and resources.
  • Works collaboratively with the Marketing department to review applicants, make final admissions decisions, and send out admissions offers.
