We are seeking
Adjunct Faculty in Architecture
to deliver high-quality teaching on the undergraduate module
ARCH1201D Exploring Architecture
. The successful candidates will support students in developing their technical drawing and visual communication skills, with a strong focus on
orthographic projection and architectural representation
through studio-based and classroom learning.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Teach and assess undergraduate students in
ARCH1201D Exploring Architecture
, focusing on orthographic projections (plans, sections, elevations).
Deliver lectures, workshops, and tutorials that integrate technical precision with design thinking.
Provide constructive feedback to support students' academic and professional growth.
Contribute to the development and enhancement of curriculum and assessments, ensuring alignment with professional and academic standards.
Maintain accurate student progress and assessment records in line with institutional requirements.
Engage in departmental meetings and academic quality assurance processes.

Total Teaching Load:
90 hours (can be split between two adjunct lecturers)
Teaching Days:
Monday: 9:00 - 16:00
Tuesday: 9:00 - 16:00
Wednesday: 9:00 - 12:00

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications
Master's degree in Architecture or a closely related field (MArch, MFA, or equivalent required; PhD desirable).
Attested qualifications with UAE Ministry of Education equivalency (mandatory requirement).
Professional registration (e.g., ARB, RIBA Part 2) is an advantage but not required.
Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of teaching experience in architecture or design programmes, ideally in UK or transnational higher education.
Demonstrated expertise in orthographic drawing, technical representation, and visual communication.
Experience teaching both digital and analogue methods of architectural representation.
Knowledge & Skills
Strong technical knowledge in orthographic projection and architectural communication.
Ability to deliver high-quality, student-centred teaching and assessment.
Familiarity with contemporary architectural practice and professional standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Attributes
Enthusiasm for teaching in a multicultural higher education environment.
Ability to mentor and inspire students.
