About the Company:
We are hiring for a well-established construction company that undertakes major infrastructure and building projects across the UAE. The company operates in civil, commercial, and residential construction, offering end-to-end construction services including design, procurement, and project delivery.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will manage invoice processing, vendor payments, reconciliations, and support the month-end close process. This role is critical to maintaining strong vendor relationships, ensuring accurate financial records, and contributing to efficient cash flow management.
Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, review, and validate vendor invoices, expense reports, and credit notes.
• Code invoices to appropriate cost centers, GL accounts, and projects.
• Enter invoices into the accounting system and ensure timely approval.
• Prepare and execute vendor payment runs (e.g., bank transfers, checks).
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain the accounts payable aging schedule and provide regular reporting.
• Liaise with project managers, procurement, and operational teams to ensure invoice approvals.
• Process and reconcile credit card statements and employee reimbursements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing: accruals, prepayments, and provisions.
• Respond to vendor queries and maintain positive supplier relationships.
• Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to queries.
• Implement process improvements to streamline AP workflows and reduce errors.
• Ensure adherence to UAE VAT regulations and accurately record VAT on invoices.

Requirements:
Qualifications & Skills Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• 3-6 years of relevant experience in accounts payable / finance, preferably within construction or project-based industries.
• Strong working knowledge of accounting software (ERP experience preferred - Oracle, SAP, etc.).
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).
• Solid understanding of general ledger and accounting principles.
• Experience with vendor management and reconciliations.
• Knowledge of UAE VAT requirements is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) - ability to interact with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• High integrity, with an understanding of internal control procedures.
