Job Description

Job Purpose:

To manage day-to-day financial transactions, maintain accurate financial records, and support the financial health of the interior design business through proper accounting, cost tracking, and project-based budgeting.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

Process vendor bills, staff reimbursements, and subcontractor payments. Raise client invoices as per project milestones and follow up for collections. Maintain accurate records of payments and receipts.

Project Cost Management:

Track and record costs associated with materials, subcontractors, and services for each design project. Ensure project budgets are adhered to and report any variances.

Banking & Reconciliation:

Reconcile bank statements and ensure accurate cash flow tracking. Handle petty cash and expense claims.

Bookkeeping & Reporting:

Maintain day-to-day accounting records in accounting software. Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports, P&L statements, and balance sheets. Assist in annual audits and VAT filing.

Vendor & Client Coordination:

Communicate with suppliers regarding invoices and payment terms. Coordinate with clients for payment schedules and documentation.

Compliance & Documentation:

Ensure proper documentation and filing of invoices, receipts, and contracts. Support compliance with local financial regulations and VAT laws.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Experience with accounting software and MS Excel. Familiarity with project-based accounting and budgeting. High attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and coordination skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, design-driven environment.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in an interior design, architecture, or construction firm. Knowledge of UAE VAT is a plus.
