Purpose of Role: The Accounts Assistant reports to the two Finance Business Partners but will also work closely with the Dubai based Management Accountants and the Group Management Accounting team based in the UK, supporting the Management Accounting team who are responsible for:
the production of reliable management accounting and other financial / performance information;
providing support and advice to the management team, budget holders and other staff on a variety of business / financial issues
Summary of Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Supporting the overall month end process by assisting in the analysis of specific general ledger accounts
Loading journals to support month end, forecasting and budgeting processes
Owning specific balance sheet reconciliations, to be prepared on a monthly basis
Supporting the Management Accounting team by generating accurate and timely financial management reports and analysis
Support the Management Accounting team in the development of effective budgeting, forecasting and planning processes
Prepare reports and analysis on KPI's for the organisation
Supporting overall campus, schools and professional services teams with ad hoc analysis as requested by the Head of Management Accounts
Education, Qualifications & Experience: Essential
Educated to First Degree or equivalent practical experience in the workplace
Qualified / Part Qualified Accountant with previous experience of working within a Management Accounting function
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong IT skills including ERP type systems and Microsoft products
Competent in the use of relevant IT packages
Analytical problem solving skills
Well-developed interpersonal skills
Demonstrable excellent customer service
Demonstrable ability to work quickly, flexibly and accurately in a dynamic, changing and pressured environment
Demonstrable professional and proactive approach
Desirable
Specific subject qualification if required
Professional Qualification or memberships of Professional body (if applicable)
