JOB PURPOSE
The Regional Development Manager is a member of the sales and business development team for qualifications, in the Middle East region, tasked with growing, acquiring and retaining qualifications business in schools. This role is based in Dubai UAE and reports into the Head of Qualifications.

Background Information:
The Regional Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, managing and growing key accounts.
The role will encompass:
Hold key responsibility for assigned customers and proactively expand business within these
customers
Manage and further penetrate customers at all levels and develop relationships with key
accounts to identify sales opportunity, networking and fact-finding to drive achievement of plans and objectives
Formulate strategic and operational plans based on a solid understanding of the market
trends and customer demands
Develop relationships to influence key stakeholders including government and non-
government organizations as well as educators to position Pearson as the preferred education solutions provider
Perform account management related duties and ensure that all customers\' needs and
deadlines are met
Maintain regular communication and conduct annual business review with key customers
Maintain and grow revenue with existing customers by way of upselling or cross selling
Leverage management tools to analyze data on variety of critical business drivers
Develop timely and accurate forecasts for assigned accounts and revise throughout the year
Proactively keeps up to date on industry and customer specific issues
Act as an ambassador for Pearson, both in the market and within our Global Operations

Strong account management and relationship building skills, reflected in proven sales track
record
Possess strong knowledge of the education sector in nominated countries including trends
and business opportunity sources
Excellent command of verbal and written English
Able to interact effectively with all levels of people, specifically at the senior management
level within key stakeholder group
Willing to travel
Experience with the sales process and soft-selling skills
Ability to form relationships with customers, including being responsive and empathetic to
customers\' needs
Solid work ethic, self-discipline, persistence, and ability to work independently and in a team
Comfort level in working with numbers and performing statistical analysis
Strong communication, problem-solving, negotiation and influencing skills plus an ability to
operate in a matrix-reporting environment.
