Robert Half are working with a leading Utilities company based in Abu Dhabi is currently looking to recruit an Accounting & Reporting Manager. Reporting directly into the Director of Finance this is a fantastic opportunity to work with a forward thinking organization with significant career progression.
The Role
Your role will be to supervise the activities related to accounts and general ledger management with effective use of information systems ensuring that financial procedures and internal control techniques are carried out and aligned to the business plan and established policies and procedures.
Implement the divisional strategy in line with business vision, mission, and corporate objectives in compliance with group delegation of authority policy.
Ensure that the overall business strategy is translated into annual operational business plans and the performance is monitored to ensure business plans are in line with the overall strategy.
Implement divisional policy, systems, processes, procedures and controls covering all functional areas in line with group delegation of authority policy to ensure fulfilment of all relevant procedural/legislative requirements while delivering quality and cost-effective service in a consistent manner.
Ensure all financial reporting deliverables are completed timely and comply with business and policies and standards, including monthly, quarterly, annual, SBA and ad hoc reporting.
Ensure all tax filings are submitted on time and completed in an accurate manner.
Manage the preparation of period management, financial reports and progress reports to keep the senior management informed about the progress of various initiatives and to facilitate decision-making.
Comply with reporting requirements in a timely manner.
Assist Management to further develop and bolster processes to enhance completeness, accuracy and value added financial data and reports.
Manage month end close and the general ledger ensuring it covers all transactions and journal entries and is properly updated maintains accurate accounting and financial records to secure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.
Manage the control of general ledger, ensuring the direct inputs and transfer from subsidiary ledgers/journals, upon confirmation of correctness.
Manage the efficient, timely and accurate payments starting from receipt of invoices until their processing, to maintain the accuracy of accounts.
Manage the preparation of all manual entries occurring at month end and periodically to ensure timely and accurate closing of monthly accounts.
Monitor and respond to audit queries, ensure tracking of any audit discrepancies and comply with all audit/regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.
Manage oversight of AR process and ensure timely issuance of invoices.
Review journal entries as assigned and ensure accurate and complete entries are tracked and entered into GL on a timely basis.
Ensure all financial controls are adequately applied so the books of account will always present a true and fair view.
Ensure separate books of accounts for power and water are maintained according to agreed procedures and definitions.
Ensure compliance with financial authority norms.
The Candidate
Master\'s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Management
CFA, CMA or CPA professional certifications
10 years of relevant working experience
Salary and Benefits
35,000 - 40,000 AED per month
