The Accounting Clerk is responsible for providing support to the accounting department by performing daily accounting tasks, such as data entry, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position ensures that the company's financial operations are organized, timely, and accurate.
Key Responsibilities:
Record and process financial transactions including invoices, payments, and journal entries.
Reconcile bank statements and company accounts regularly.
Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions.
Maintain accurate and organized financial files and documentation.
Prepare and maintain accounting spreadsheets and reports.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Verify accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents.
Respond to inquiries from vendors, clients, and internal departments.
Assist in the preparation of tax filings, audits, and financial reports as needed.
Perform general clerical duties including photocopying, scanning, and filing.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Diploma or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience as an accounting clerk or in a similar role is preferred.
Familiarity with accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Tally).
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
Office-based role, with standard working hours.
May require occasional overtime during month-end or audit periods.
