Manage and report on the company's financial information, including bookkeeping, financial statements, and budgets.
Ensure accuracy and compliance with all relevant accounting and tax regulations.
Provide financial insights to support strategic business decisions.
Responsibilities
Bookkeeping and record-keeping:
Record daily transactions, including invoices, payments, and expense reports.
Maintain and update the general ledger and other accounting databases.
Ensure all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
Financial reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (e.g., profit & loss, balance sheets, cash flow statements).
Compile and present financial reports to management.
Reconciliation and compliance:
Perform bank and account reconciliations.
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
Ensure compliance with company, local, state, and federal financial regulations.
Tax and payroll:
Prepare and file tax returns.
Process payroll and manage expense reimbursements.
Analysis and forecasting:
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and cost-saving opportunities.
Assist with financial forecasting and risk analysis.
Qualifications and skills
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with management and clients.
Knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
