Job Summary:

The Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining financial records specific to the transport and logistics operations. This includes preparing accounts, handling cost analysis for fleet management, ensuring compliance with tax and audit requirements, and supporting management in financial decision-making through accurate reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain day-to-day accounting records, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and journal entries. Prepare and analyze financial statements, monthly closing, and management reports. Reconcile bank statements, fuel expenses, tolls, and trip advances. Track fleet-related expenses (fuel, maintenance, insurance, driver allowances, etc.) and prepare cost analysis reports. Monitor receivables and payables for clients, vendors, and subcontractors. Coordinate with transport operations for trip settlements and driver reimbursements. Handle petty cash and ensure proper documentation for all financial transactions. Prepare VAT/tax filings and coordinate with auditors during annual audits. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and expense control. Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and financial regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum

3-5 years of accounting experience

, preferably in the

transport/logistics industry

. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, VAT/tax regulations, and financial reporting. Proficiency in

Tally / QuickBooks / ERP systems

and MS Excel. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred:

Experience managing

fleet cost accounting

or

transport invoicing systems

. Knowledge of UAE tax and compliance regulations (if applicable). Valid UAE driving license (optional).
