We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented

Accountant

with hands-on experience in

supermarket or retail accounting

to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, handling inventory-related accounting, and ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions related to supermarket operations. Manage

accounts payable and receivable

, vendor payments, and customer billing. Reconcile

cash registers, POS reports, and bank statements

regularly. Track and monitor

inventory costing, wastage, and stock adjustments

. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual

financial statements and reports

. Handle

VAT filing, taxation compliance

, and coordinate with external auditors. Monitor and manage

petty cash, daily sales reports

, and credit customer accounts. Assist in

budget preparation, forecasting

, and cost control analysis. Ensure compliance with

internal accounting procedures

and financial controls.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

3+ years of experience

in accounting, preferably in a

supermarket or retail

environment. Strong knowledge of

inventory accounting

,

POS system reconciliation

, and

retail cash flow management

. Proficient in

accounting software

such as Tally, QuickBooks, or Zoho Books. Familiar with

Microsoft Excel

, data entry, and financial reporting tools. Good understanding of

VAT regulations

, invoices, and tax returns in the UAE (or your region). Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with

ERP systems

(e.g., Oracle, SAP, Odoo). Knowledge of

bank reconciliation

, payroll processing, and financial audits. Fluency in

English

(Arabic is a plus).
