Position Overview
The Accountant R2R (Record to Report) plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely reconciliation, and supporting financial reporting across more than 200 entities in the MENA and SEA regions. The position focuses on general ledger management, intercompany reconciliation, and audit compliance in alignment with IFRS and Al-Futtaim Group's accounting policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform reconciliation of general ledger accounts and prepare accurate schedules with insights and variance explanations.
  • Record transactions and adjustments in SAP/BPC, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
  • Support monthly and annual book closure activities by preparing journal entries, provisions, and amortization postings.
  • Standardize accounting schedules and assist in implementing review processes to detect potential discrepancies.
  • Prepare and circulate monthly intercompany loan reconciliations and assist with intragroup eliminations.
  • Collaborate with financial controllers and management accountants to ensure data accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Review intercompany transactions in the ICM module and provide input for elimination and correction.
  • Support the external audit process by preparing and submitting audit schedules and required documentation.
  • Assist with financial reporting by providing relevant inputs, reclassifications, and validation in BPC.
  • Continuously improve reconciliation and review processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Fresh ACCA, CMA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting, preferably within a shared service or multinational organization.
  • Proficient in SAP, BPC, and Microsoft Excel; exposure to SAP BW is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, general ledger processes, and financial controls.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with large data volumes and maintain accuracy under tight deadlines.
