The Accountant-General Accounts will support the Assistant Manager-General Accounts in performing the day-to-day activities in the general accounts function of the Finance Department.

Job Responsibilities

• Performing audits on financial data to assure its accuracy and truthfulness.
• Ensuring that financial information complies with professional and regulatory standards.
• Performing bank reconciliation and passing necessary accounting entries.
• Entering financial data such as accruals, deferrals, reclassifications and interdepartmental entries into the ledger on a monthly basis, as well as preparing reports.
• Performing account analysis to ensure that journal entries and balances are correct.
• Reconciling accounts with the general ledger.
• Gathering supporting documentation and performing recordkeeping.
• Keeping abreast of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting.
• Preparing monthly journal entries.
• Preparing expense allocations and revenue.
• Assisting with balance sheet preparation and monthly account reconciliations.
• Maintaining and updating fixed assets register.
• Filing and maintaining all journal entries for internal and audit purposes.
• Assisting in automating processes and procedures.
• Assisting with financial audits and UAE VAT filing.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Assistant Manager.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Bachelor\'s degree in finance / accounting and professional accounting qualification (ACCA / CIMA / CPA / ACA / CMA)
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience
• IFRS experience
• ERP systems experience
• General ledger accounts reconciliation
• Knowledge and understanding of UAE VAT requirements
• UAE national preferred.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Master\'s degree in finance / accounting and associate member of professional accounting qualification (ACCA / CIMA / CPA / ACA / CMA)
• Five years of relevant experience
