Account cum sales roles are becoming increasingly common in the UAE, especially for smaller businesses. These positions combine the responsibilities of both accounting and sales, requiring individuals with a diverse skillset.

Here's a breakdown of the typical responsibilities and UAE tax considerations:

Accounting Responsibilities:

Maintaining accurate financial records:

This includes recording all sales transactions, purchases, expenses, and other financial activities.

Reconciling bank statements and accounts payable/receivable.

Preparing financial reports and statements, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Managing accounts payable and receivable, including sending invoices and collecting payments.

Payroll processing, if applicable.

Year-end accounting and tax preparation.

Sales Responsibilities:

Generating leads and developing new business opportunities.

Building relationships with customers and providing excellent customer service.

Negotiating sales deals and closing contracts.

Meeting and exceeding sales targets.

Providing product or service information to customers.

May involve some marketing and promotional activities.

UAE Tax Considerations:

Understanding and applying the UAE VAT (Value Added Tax) regulations to sales transactions.

Calculating and collecting VAT on sales.

Filing VAT returns with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) on a regular basis.

Maintaining VAT records and documentation.

Staying up-to-date on changes to UAE tax laws and regulations.

Additional Skills and Qualifications:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience with sales and customer service.

Understanding of basic financial concepts.

Knowledge of UAE tax regulations is highly desirable.
