Job Description

1. Role Purpose:

Jobholders at this level are shift-based and responsible for the wrapping machine. They must closely monitor system performance and, under supervision, recalibrate and reset system parameters to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Basic problem-solving techniques are applied to troubleshoot the wrapping machine. Visual inspection is also required using acceptance-rejection concepts to isolate non-conforming products for QC consideration.

2. Key Accountabilities:Equipment Operation:

Exercises operational responsibility for a wrapping machine unit according to SOPs and safety procedures to ensure continuous and efficient operations.

System Performance:

Monitors performance and, under the combiner supervisor's direction, adjusts calibrations to ensure synchronization, efficiency, and minimal downtime.

Troubleshooting:

Handles routine defects from previous units and current process by recalibrating settings to reduce downtime and losses; escalates major issues.

Reporting & Documentation:

Operates wrapping software, ensures accurate data entry per production order, and prints shift-end reports.

Raw Materials:

Reports availability of wrapping films to supervisor to avoid production interruption.

Maintenance:

Reports malfunctions and performs minor maintenance to optimize performance and extend equipment life.

Safety & Housekeeping:

Keeps work area clean and ensures compliance with all HSE standards.

Appearance and Image:

Maintains company image through proper uniform and personal hygiene.

Quality:

Applies visual inspection based on acceptance-rejection principles to isolate non-conforming products for QC review.

3. Occupational Health, Safety & Environment:

Follow the HSE policy & procedures, apply the SCD safety expectations, and wear required PPE. Take responsibility for your health and safety, and those around you. Report unsafe practices and conditions immediately.

4. Communication & Key Stakeholders:Internal:

Regular contact with supervisors to report work activities.

5. Decision Making:

Recommends acceptance or rejection of products through visual inspection.
