ENG 2013 - WORLD LITERATURE SINCE 1660 (SPRING 2026)

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced instructor to teach World Literature Since 1660 during the Spring 2026 term. The course surveys global literary movements and texts from the Enlightenment to the present, emphasizing historical context, genre, rhetoric, and comparative analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

- Teach major movements (Enlightenment, Romanticism, Realism, Modernism, Postcolonial, Contemporary).

- Lead close readings, lectures, and discussions that build analytical and writing skills.

- Curate diverse, inclusive reading lists and critical frameworks.

- Design assessments (response papers, essays, presentations) aligned with outcomes.

- Provide timely feedback and academic support.

- Ensure alignment with academic policies and program outcomes.

Qualifications:

Education:

Master's or PhD in English, Comparative Literature, or a related field (Master's preferred).

- Experience:

University-level teaching preferred.

- Skills:

Strong textual analysis pedagogy; ability to contextualize texts across cultures and eras.

- Language:

Must be fluent in English

Legal Requirements:

- Must currently reside in Qatar and hold a valid Qatari ID.
