The Windows System Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing the organization's Windows-based servers and systems. This includes installation, configuration, patch management, system monitoring, data backup, disaster recovery, and ensuring optimal performance and availability of IT services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Server Administration
Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) environments.
Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies (GPOs), and user authentication.
Handle server roles such as File Server, Print Server, and WSUS.
Monitor system health, storage, and performance metrics using tools like PRTG, Nagios, or built-in Windows monitoring tools.
2. Security & Compliance
Implement and manage security baselines, Windows Defender, and endpoint protection policies.
Apply security patches and system updates regularly.
Manage user permissions and access controls to ensure compliance with IT policies.
Assist in threat detection, vulnerability remediation, and log analysis.
3. Backup & Disaster Recovery
Manage backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Acronis, or Windows Backup).
Test and maintain backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
Support disaster recovery planning and execution.
4. Microsoft 365 & Cloud Integration
Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
Manage Azure AD synchronization, Intune device management, and hybrid configurations.
Support cloud migration and infrastructure integration projects.
5. Network & System Support
Collaborate with network teams to troubleshoot connectivity and server access issues.
Maintain file sharing permissions, printer services, and storage quotas.
Provide Level 2/3 technical support for escalated system issues.
6. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain up-to-date documentation of system configurations, changes, and policies.
Generate reports on server performance, uptime, and resource utilization.
Participate in audits and compliance assessments when required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Certifications (Preferred):
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in Windows Server administration in a medium to large environment.
? Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016-2022) administration.
Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and WSUS.
Familiarity with Hyper-V or VMware virtualization platforms.
Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
Understanding of backup/recovery technologies (Veeam preferred).
Basic networking (LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls).
Knowledge of cloud services (Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365).

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:
