About the Role

The latest addition to the GEMS Metropole Family has now opened in the heart of Al Waha. Teaching the National Curriculum for England, our new campus will continue it legacy as one of the most sought after value for money schools in Dubai.

Following a successful opening, the school has proven to be a school of choice with increasing enrollments. Due to this, the school is planned for rapid expansion and is looking for an outstanding, innovative Vice Principal to join the team from September 2024.

Joining GEMS Metropole, Al Waha and join our family of professional teaching staff, delivery a technology infused curriculum.

We aspire to hire top quality team of staff across education and non education jobs with a variety of mixed staffing to include western trained and non-western trained teachers including Arabic and Islamic studies.

The successful candidate will play a major role on the Senior Leadership Team supporting the Principal/ CEO in driving forward the whole school strategically, creatively and operationally.

We are looking for an inspiring leader with energy and commitment who recognises the potential of our students, has a visible and collaborative leadership style, and will work with our staff to continue the school\xe2\x80\x99s work to develop an aspirational learning environment for our whole school community.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the school\xe2\x80\x99s vision and mission, GEMS core values, all policies and practices, and will deputise for the Principal as required and assist in shaping & implementing the educational strategy for the school.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Embracing and encouraging the ethos and standards of excellence as defined in the GEMS Core Values.
• Leading on effective monitoring and development of the SEF and SDP.
• Leading on curriculum and its adaptation to meet the needs of all students.
• Leading on performance management and performance development plans.
• Overseeing and ensuring high standards across the Primary and Secondary phases.
• Managing budgets and undertaking teaching and other professional duties as reasonably delegated by the Principal.
• Assisting the Principal and the Senior Leadership Team of the school, in all aspects of school improvement, school evaluation, planning policies and procedures and taking full /shared responsibility for the school in the absence of the Principal.
• Being an integral part of a successful leadership team.
• Promoting the school to all stakeholders and taking a high-profile and visible role in the school community
• Taking full responsibility for leading and managing significant aspects of the school, under the overall direction of the Principal.
• Improving standards in academic performance, care and well-being.
• Leading professional development to ensure high quality learning and teaching.
• Assisting the Principal with the effective and efficient use of school management information systems and the financial management of school, admissions and enrolment.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Education or other relevant field with a teaching qualification
• 10 years\xe2\x80\x99 educational experience with a minimum of 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a leadership role
• NPQH or other relevant senior leadership qualifications (desirable)
