WHOLE SCHOOL EXECUTIVE VICE PRINCIPAL NEEDED IN ABU DHABI - ASAP

MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED UNLESS EXEMPT FOR MEDICAL REASONS

US CURRICULUM EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL; preference will be given to those with experience in the US
A minimum of five(5) years of High School teaching experience as well as extensive knowledge of an HS curriculum and programs.

The job of the K-12 Senior Vice Principal was established for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional process with specific responsibility for directing assigned programs and services for the whole school; heavily involved in the day-to-day operations as they relate to students and faculty as a whole.

To be accountable to the Principal for

  • Overseeing the day to day operation of the school
  • Serving staff, students and parents in ensuring we do whatever it takes to achieve our vision
  • Modelling at all times the vision and values of the school
  • Constantly monitoring and evaluating all aspects of our provision to ensure we are committed to a sustainable and relentless drive for improvement
  • Managing staff and resources to ensure efficiency and optimum outcomes
  • Ensuring the well-being and dignity of all members of our community is an absolute priority
  • Contributing to (with other members of the Senior Management Team):
the strategic direction and development of the school
the efficient and effective development of staff and resources
the school has an appropriate and inclusive curriculum
the strong school commitment to the vision that all students can secure outstanding outcomes and reach their full potential
ensuring the school provides for the welfare and needs of all students,
  • The effective implementation of the performance management policy
  • Strong leadership of the schools monitoring and Quality Assurance processes to ensure
  • they are transparent and lead to improvement
  • Working with all leaders, both at senior and middle level to ensure the school is a self-evaluating system with robust systems of accountability and where necessary intervention
  • Ensuring the school has high quality target setting and monitoring processes
  • Maintaining the schools excellent relationships with all stakeholders and maintains its excellent reputation
  • High standards of behavior, attendance and achievement for all students and ensure they have a voice
  • Direct line management of both senior and middle leaders
  • Provide values-driven leadership across the school
  • Deputizing for the Principal as necessary
  • Working with the Principal on staff appointments, taking into account the relevant employment legislation and school needs
  • Monitoring staff attendance and dealing with requests for leave of absence
  • Supporting the principal in leading the school Improvement Planning and self-evaluation processes,
  • Ensuring that systems are efficient and fit for purpose to manage the schools involvement in a range of networks
  • Sustaining the school ethos of respect for the individual, hard work, and celebration of achievement
  • Providing a teaching commitment at a level consistent with the needs of the school
  • Undertake any professional duties as delegated by the Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education /Certification
  • Masters Degree in Education, certification or equivalent
  • Administrator Certificate or minimum four years supervisory experience
  • Minimum five years middle leadership experience
Special Knowledge/Skills
  • Successful experience working in a leadership role in education
  • Working knowledge of curriculum, professional development and assessment
  • Deep knowledge of the US curriculum practices, particularly with High School experience, within the US
  • Excellent skills in communicating and collaborating with staff and parents
  • Excellent skills in supervising and evaluating staff
  • Classroom experience at the secondary level
  • Working knowledge of K-12 level curriculum and its inherent unique attributes
  • Bring an imaginative approach to solving problems and be a good communicator, while working cooperatively with those of differing views.
It is essential that all applicants are qualified in line with Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) requirements with an in depth working knowledge of an American curriculum school in an international context. The school is committed to the safeguarding of all its students and, therefore, this post is subject to all relevant background checks before appointment.

The package for our senior leaders includes:
  • Salary: 25000-30000 AED per month
  • School fees paid 100% for the first child and 50% for the second child.
  • Housing Allowance: AED80000 per year / Or Staff Housing
  • Medical Insurance for employee only
  • Annual economy airfare to place of origin for employee only
  • All Leave pay in accordance with UAE Labour laws (minimum 8 weeks yearly) plus all National Holidays
  • Visa and medical check-up fees for residence visa paid for employee only
  • End of Service benefits are in accordance with UAE Ministry of Labour usually around 21 days paid for each year of service, paid at end of contract.
  • Contract period is 3 years renewable. There is a six month probationary period
  • Start Date is October 2020
