Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed designs for wet utilities systems including potable water networks, wastewater collection systems, and stormwater drainage infrastructure.
Prepare layouts, profiles, and details using AutoCAD and relevant design software.
Carry out hydraulic calculations and modelling to verify system capacity, efficiency, and compliance with design standards.
Use hydraulic modelling tools such as InfoWorks or EPANET to analyse and optimise network performance.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, road, and architectural engineers to ensure integrated design solutions.
Prepare technical reports, design calculations, specifications, and cost estimates for wet utilities packages.
Ensure designs comply with local authority requirements, UAE regulations, and applicable international standards.
Support project delivery through design reviews, responses to technical queries, and coordination with contractors.
Attend client meetings and presentations to explain design concepts, technical solutions, and project progress.
Conduct site visits as required to assess existing conditions and support construction activities.
Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers within the team.
Ideal Profile
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in wet utilities design within consultancy or engineering environments.
Strong experience in the design of water supply, sewerage, and stormwater systems.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with hydraulic modelling software such as InfoWorks or EPANET.
Good understanding of local and international wet utilities design standards and authority requirements.
Exposure to sustainable water management practices and infrastructure projects is an advantage.
Professional Engineer certification is preferred but not mandatory.
