Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and certified

Welding Inspector (Piping)

to join our Quality Control team for ongoing and upcoming Oil & Gas EPC projects in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all welding activities on piping systems meet international standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Inspection & Quality Control

Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of pipe welding activities in accordance with project specifications, codes, and standards Perform pre-weld, in-process, and final welding inspections for piping systems Verify welding procedures, welder qualifications, and consumables compliance Review and approve welding procedure specifications (WPS) and procedure qualification records (PQR) Monitor and document Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities including RT, UT, MT, and PT Inspect fit-up, alignment, root gap, tack welds, and completed weld joints Verify heat treatment processes and post-weld heat treatment requirements

Compliance & Standards

Ensure compliance with ASME, API, ASTM, AWS, and other applicable codes and standards Verify adherence to client specifications (ADNOC, ARAMCO standards, etc.) Implement and maintain quality control procedures and inspection checklists Support HSE initiatives and ensure safe working practices at all times Participate in internal and external quality audits

Education

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or related technical field Recognized Welding Inspector certification is mandatory

Professional Certifications (Mandatory)

CSWIP 3.1

(Welding Inspector) or equivalent international certification

AWS CWI

(Certified Welding Inspector) - highly preferred

ASNT Level II

in RT/UT/MT/PT - preferred Valid certification from recognized bodies (TWI, AWS, ASNT)

Experience

Minimum 5-8 years

of experience in welding inspection for piping systems Proven experience in Oil & Gas EPC projects (onshore/offshore) Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, and duplex piping systems Background in pipeline construction and process piping projects Experience working with international EPC contractors in the Middle East region
