We are currently seeking experienced

Welding & Coating Inspector (m/f/d) Topside

to support the Site Management Topside Construction project, starting approx. April 2026, for an estimated duration till 2030.

This freelance role is onshore-based at Port Rashid, Dubai, operating on a Shiftsystem or with potential weekend assignments depending on operational requirements.

Responsibilities

As part of your role, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:Overseeing steelworks, welding, and coating activities performed by the contractor, ensuring compliance with quality standards, project specifications, and BSH requirements. Acting as the on-site contractor representative (CR) and coordinating closely with the Site Manager and Lead Inspector. Reviewing and controlling documentation and execution, including: Welding documentation (WPS/WPQR, etc.) and material/coating certificates Equipment condition and calibration, process parameters, and environmental conditions Personnel qualifications (welders, NDT personnel, painters/FROSIO) and dimensional control Reporting and following up on non-conformities (NC) and HSE incidents. Tracking punch items using dedicated tools. Participating in ITP witness/hold points, HAT, and final visual inspections prior to sail-out.

Requirements

We look forward to receiving your application if your profile matches most of the following requirements:A technical background, gained either through a university degree in engineering (Master's/Dipl.-Ing.) or through a completed apprenticeship, technical qualification, or comparable professional training combined with relevant work experience Having more than 5 years of experience as a Welding & Coating Inspector. Having experience in offshore steelworks, preferably within offshore wind projects. Demonstrating strong documentation skills, including preparation and review of welding documentation. Holding IWE/EWE or IWI-C or CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2 certification. Holding NDT certification according to EN ISO 9712, Level 2. Being business-fluent in English. Having a permanent residence in Dubai or demonstrating willingness to relocate to Dubai for the duration of the project.

Nice to Have:Holding coating expertise such as FROSIO Level 3 or NACE CIP Level 2 (or equivalent). Having experience in non-conformity (NC) management. Being fluent in Arabic. Being fluent in German and/or Arabic; additional electrical qualification according to DIN VDE 0105-100 is an advantage.
