perform welding and metal fabrication works related to generator sets, including exhaust ducts, fuel filling cabinets, base frames, enclosures, brackets, and supports.
Carry out MIG, ARC, and/or TIG welding on mild steel and related materials as per drawings and job requirements.
Read and interpret fabrication drawings, sketches, and measurements accurately.
Cut, grind, assemble, and weld metal components to required dimensions and tolerances.
Ensure proper alignment, fit-up, and finishing of fabricated parts before and after welding.
Inspect completed welds for strength, quality, and appearance, rectifying defects where required.
Coordinate with fabrication, mechanical, and site teams to ensure work is completed as per schedule.
Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in safe and operable condition.
Follow all workshop safety procedures, including PPE and fire safety requirements.
Assist with on-site fabrication or installation works when required.
Support modifications, repairs, and rework of genset-related metal components.
Ensure materials are used efficiently and report any shortages or defects.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workshop environment.
