Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Set up welding machines based on job requirements.
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment (MIG, TIG, Stick, Arc).
Inspect welded surfaces and structure to identify flaws and ensure quality standards.
Operate grinders, cutters, and other equipment as necessary to prepare or finish work.
Follow safety procedures and wear proper protective equipment.
Maintain welding equipment and tools.
Work with various metals such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to complete projects.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a welder or similar role.
Knowledge of welding techniques, equipment, and safety standards.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
Physical strength and stamina to work in challenging environments.
Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Welder) is preferred but not always required.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
