Position Overview



Responsible for welding jobs onsite and workshop


Key Responsibilities


• Able to weld complete a sound joint.
• Fit up of all job specific welding joints.
• Cuts work piece by using gas cutting torches with oxygen and acetylene cylinders.
• Observes dimension tolerance and to check weld quality and conformance to specifications.
• Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using proper gauge, calipers, and precision measuring instruments.
• Having good hands-on experience in grinding/dressing works.
• Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions, with vertical uphill and downhill weld progression.
• Use of Shielded metal arc welding and Gas tungsten Arc welding technique.
• Must be able to read and understand WPS and make fit ups to tolerances.
• Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.
• Determines required equipment's and welding method based on the site conditions and requirement.
• Keeps up to date on all equipment maintenance and operational procedures to ensure safe, proper maintenance and use of equipment and satisfactory completion of job.


Educational Requirements



ITI or equivalent


Related Work Experience


• Have been approved earlier to weld as per ASME IX and API 1104.
• Greater preference to welders having worked in refineries and/or O&G industry.
• Formal undergraduate education or higher preferred.
• Added welding trainings or courses and certifications preferred.
• Ability to converse in good English.

Physical and Cognitive Demands

• The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands and grasp, manipulate or assemble very small components or equipment.
• Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range.
• Job requires standing for extended periods. You should be able to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects.
• Visual Color Discrimination - You should be able to distinguish between different colors.
• Visualization - To visualize how something will look after it has been installed or wired. Neatness of work.
• Selective Attention - The ability to concentrate on a task without being distracted.
• Must be able to travel locally and internationally to satisfy client and company needs



Industry Experience:

• Experience in shop floor and/or on-site welding pipes, boiler plates, etc.
