1. Editing
Selecting reporter stories / agency copies / press releases / print published copies; rewriting/sanitising them in terms of content and making them ready for digital publishing after clearance from senior team members.
This includes news selection and visuals (images, videos and infographics), integrating social media into the news presentation, as well as determining homepage hierarchy. Monitor wires.
Review the sensitivity of the stories before publishing.
Operating the Web Content Management System (CMS) and multimedia.
Writing articles / monitoring message boards / updating online content around the clock.
Help populate KT content on social media platforms.
2. Coordination
Liaise with reporters / journalists to clarify fact and details about a story to ensure that they are correct and in compliance with the copyright laws, market sensitivities and will not tarnish the reputation of the publication.
Liaise with contributors - journalists, copywriters, product managers, marketing executives, researchers, photographers, publishers or image libraries, etc. - to gather and publish relevant content.
Create micro-sites/polls/surveys; seek and curate reactions and user comments.
Create special pages/sections.
3. Reporting
Creating and conceptualising web content.
Covering major events, breaking local stories and updating web copies on national and international stories.
4. Special Assignments
Micro-sites, Poll Survey, Reactions and user comments.
Creating special online pages on features and updating specific pages / sections assigned.
Other assignments as and when required by Line Manager
