Job Objective

The 12M Commercial Boat Captain will operate a water taxi service within the Mina Al Arab community, providing safe, reliable, and efficient transportation for residents and guests. The captain will ensure a smooth journey while adhering to safety standards and offering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Navigation and Operation: Operate the water taxi safely across designated routes within the community. Maintain punctual schedules and efficient routes for resident convenience. Safety and Compliance: Ensure passenger comfort, satisfaction and safety at all times by adhering to UAE maritime laws. - Conduct pre-departure safety briefings for passengers. Vessel Maintenance: Perform daily inspections and oversee routine maintenance of the water taxi to ensure seaworthiness. - Report technical issues promptly and coordinate repairs. Customer Service:Greet passengers warmly, assist with boarding and disembarking, and address inquiries. - Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor with all residents and guests. Administrative Duties: Maintain logs of trips, passenger counts, fuel usage, and any incidents. - Submit reports on operations, including suggestions for service improvement. Community Engagement: Be a positive representative of the Mina Al Arab community by fostering goodwill with residents. #

Skills Required

Navigational Skills: Proficiency in operating and maneuvering a 12M vessel in shallow and busy waterways. - GPS, radar, and other navigational tools knowledge (advantage) Safety Knowledge: Understanding safety protocols for small passenger vessels and handling emergencies. Attention to Detail: Vigilance in monitoring weather conditions, vessel performance, and passenger safety. Local Knowledge: Familiarity with Mina Al Arab's waterways and surroundings #

Qualifications Requirement

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Licensing and Certifications: Valid UAE Small Vessel Captain's License (12M). - STCW Certification for passenger safety and first aid. - RYA or other relevant maritime certifications (preferred but not mandatory). Minimum of 2 years of experience as a captain on a similar-sized or larger passenger vessel. - Experience providing transportation services, especially in community or hospitality settings. #

Other Requirements:

Proficiency in English (mandatory); Arabic is an advantage. Medical fitness certificate for maritime operators. Demonstrated knowledge of UAE maritime laws and Mina Al Arab community guidelines Valid UAE residency visa or work permit. Medical fitness certificate for seafarers. #
