Our Water Resources & Engineering team provides specialist consulting services across a diverse range of water resources and water engineering applications and markets. Within the surface water team, our skills include: hydrologic and hydraulic assessment for linear transport infrastructure, urban development, dams and other developments and floodplain risk management, catchment and water resource modelling / assessments, storm water infrastructure design/management, water demand analysis and forecasting, urban water cycle management, soil and water management, water resources planning and policy, and integrated water resources planning.

An exciting opportunity exists within our Wet Utilities division for an experienced Water Resource Lead - Stormwater and Flood. As the Stormwater and Flood Lead, you will be responsible for leading major infrastructure design projects as well as undertaking high profile hydrological, hydraulic and water quality investigations utilising the latest and leading edge technologies. Other responsibilities also include: * Be the design lead in surface water hydrology for major infrastructure projects

  • Manage key modelling and design projects from start to finish
  • Act as the technical and design lead for flood mitigation works and stormwater quantity and quality management
  • Conduct detailed analysis and reviews of hydrological, hydraulic and water quality projects
  • Prepare proposals and produce quality reports
  • Provide specialist advice to team members and clients
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients
  • Develop designs from concept through the detailed design process and then onto final Authority approvals. Develop IFC and provide support to construction team
  • Coordinate the delivery of design outputs including the necessary quality assurance checking.
  • Liaise with authorities, the client, consultants, contractors and other members of the wider organization
  • Review and inspect construction activities and to ensure compliance with designs, drawings and specifications.
  • Review and approve documentation, such as shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, etc. as required
Here's What You'll Need:
  • Have proven stormwater and flood design experience
  • Have experience in the technical delivery of stormwater/ flood management projects including rainfall data assessment, hydrological study, flood study, flood mapping, and mitigation measures, stormwater modeling, storm pipe network modeling, SUDS design
  • Have extensive experience in Civil 3D/BIM for infrastructure projects
  • Be able to draw and integrate utilities/infrastructure networks
  • Be able to undertake clash analysis for utilities independently
  • Know and be able to work independently with relevant softwares including, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, WaterCad/Gems, SewerCad/Gems, StormCAD.
  • Be experienced with relevant software for water hammer/surge analysis, hydrology/flood study, water quality modelling is plus.
  • Have the ability to utilize the BIM technology and models in design, construction and commissioning of the related works.
  • 15+ years of related engineering experience (mainly in designs & modeling)
  • Degree educated in Civil /Environmental Engineering or equivalent is required
  • MIEAust, CPEng or equivalent (preferred)
  • Consultancy and Business Development experience will be highly desirable
