Job Description

The Watch Room Attendant is responsible for observing all airport movements and monitoring communications during their shift. They are tasked with logging relevant events to enable timely dispatch of Emergency and Rescue Services in response to incidents within the facility and surrounding areas. The role ensures compliance with national and international aviation standards to minimize risks to users, assets, and facilities.

Responsibilities

Receive emergency calls via the Dispatcher's switchboard and initiate timely Emergency and Rescue Services responses.

Maintain and implement the Call-Out List during major emergencies to ensure all critical parties are informed.

Log all events and movements of Emergency and Rescue Services vehicles and staff to track availability and create written records for review.

Monitor and regularly test Dispatcher's room equipment and fire alarm systems to ensure operational readiness.

Prepare incident reports for the Duty Officer, documenting emergency responses and identifying areas for improvement.

Record service requests for Emergency and Rescue Services vehicles and equipment, including fueling standbys, and inform the Duty Officer.

Work 12-hour rotational shifts, including regular overnight shifts.

Operate effectively in high-stress, major emergency situations.

Education and Qualifications

Experience

At least 2 years in a Firefighting position.

Minimum 2 years of Aviation Firefighting experience.
