Waitress / Waiter
Location: Hilton Garden Inn, Ras Al Khaimah
Department: Food & Beverage
Reports To: F&B Supervisor / F&B Manager
Job Summary:
As a Waitress/Waiter, you are at the heart of the guest experience. You are responsible for providing friendly, attentive, and efficient service to ensure guests have an enjoyable and memorable dining experience. You will take orders, serve food and beverages, and maintain a clean and welcoming environment, all while upholding the high standards of Hilton Garden Inn.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service:

• Greet guests warmly, present menus, and inform them about daily specials.
• Provide knowledgeable and enthusiastic recommendations on menu items and beverages.
• Take accurate food and drink orders using the hotel's point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Serve food and beverages in a timely and professional manner, following established service sequences.
• Check in with guests to ensure their satisfaction with the meal and service.
• Handle guest requests and complaints promptly, escalating to the supervisor when necessary.

Operational Duties:

• Set up the dining area before service, ensuring tables are properly arranged and fully stocked with clean linens, cutlery, and glassware.
• Maintain a clean and tidy station throughout the shift, including clearing tables and resetting them for new guests.
• Have a thorough understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.
• Process cash and credit card payments accurately.
• Follow all opening and closing side duties as assigned.

Teamwork & Compliance:

• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other waitstaff to ensure smooth service.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations (HACCP).
• Maintain a professional appearance and a positive, can-do attitude at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a waiter/waitress in a restaurant or hotel is preferred.
• Customer-oriented with a friendly and engaging personality.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Good communication skills in English. Knowledge of additional languages is a benefit.
• Well-groomed and professional appearance.
• Ability to stand for long periods and carry heavy trays.
• Must be flexible to work various shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
