Waitress / Waiter
Overall Purpose:
To provide an exceptional and seamless dining experience for guests by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout their meal.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service & Interaction:

• Warmly greet guests upon their arrival, present menus, and announce any specials.
• Guide guests through the menu, offering informed recommendations and answering questions about ingredients, preparation, and allergens.
• Accurately take food and drink orders, repeating them back to ensure accuracy.
• Check in with guests throughout the meal to ensure satisfaction and address any needs promptly.
• Handle guest complaints with professionalism, empathy, and a solution-oriented approach, escalating to a manager when necessary.
• Thank guests sincerely as they leave and invite them to return.

Order & Food Delivery:

• Input orders correctly into the Point-of-Sale (POS) system and communicate any special requests clearly to the kitchen and bar staff.
• Serve food and beverages efficiently, ensuring the correct items are delivered to the correct guest.
• Coordinate with food runners and bussers to ensure timely delivery of meals.
• Maintain awareness of table turnover to manage the flow of service effectively.

Table & Station Maintenance:

• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and well-organized dining area and service station.
• Reset tables efficiently with clean linens, utensils, glassware, and condiments after guests depart.
• Ensure all surfaces are clean and presentable at all times.

Payment Processing:

• Present checks to guests accurately and process payments via cash, credit/debit cards, or mobile payments.
• Handle cash responsibly and maintain accurate financial records for all transactions.

Teamwork & Side Work:

• Collaborate effectively with hosts, bussers, bartenders, and kitchen staff.
• Perform opening and closing side duties, such as refilling condiments, brewing coffee, and restocking supplies.
• Attend pre-shift meetings to be informed about menu changes and restaurant updates.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven experience as a Waitress, Waiter, or in a similar customer service role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a friendly and engaging personality.
• Ability to work on your feet for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Basic math skills for handling cash and giving correct change.
• Team-oriented mindset with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations.
• Food safety certification is often a plus.
