Job Summary

The Cruise Ship Waitress provides excellent table service in one or more onboard food & beverage venues (main dining rooms, specialty restaurants, buffets, room service, etc.). She ensures that each guest has a memorable dining experience by being attentive, courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. The position involves working in a high-paced, multicultural environment, adhering to strict service and safety standards, and sometimes assisting with special functions or events.

Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesGuest Service & Dining

Greet guests, escort them to their tables, present menus, explain menu items, and make recommendations. Cleaning, Hygiene & Safety

Maintain clean and sanitary service areas, tables, side stands, chairs and work?stations in accordance with the cruise line's health, safety, sanitation standards (e.g. USPH / UKPH or equivalent). Crew Center+1 Adhere to all safety procedures when serving hot or heavy items, moving trays, etc.
Teamwork & Duties Beyond Primary Role

Assist or mentor junior staff (assistant waiters / runners) if required. Chncrew+1 Participate in theme nights, special dining events, or private functions onboard. Chncrew+1 Rotate through different dining venues as needed (e.g. specialty restaurants, buffets, main dining). Qualifications & Experience

Minimum of

2 years

experience as a waitress / server in a high?volume restaurant, hotel or resort. Cruise experience is a plus. JobCruise+1 High school diploma or its equivalent. Hospitality or service?industry certifications are preferred.
Skills & Competencies

Strong customer?service orientation; polite, friendly, proactive, attentive to guests. Excellent verbal communication in English; knowledge of additional languages (e.g. Spanish, French, etc.) is an advantage. Chncrew+1 Good knowledge of food & beverage terminology; ability to present menu items clearly. Chncrew+1 Ability to multi?task under pressure, manage several tables or orders simultaneously. Physical stamina: able to stand long hours, carry trays, walk long distances across dining areas, work in sometimes tight quarters. Crew Center+1 High standards of personal appearance, grooming, and uniform compliance.
Working Conditions

Shift work: mornings, evenings, nights; may include weekends and public holidays. Rotational work across multiple dining venues. Shared living quarters / cabins onboard. Exposure to movement (ship rocking), confined spaces, possibly rough seas. Long hours, fast pace, sometimes extended contracts at sea.
