Job Description
Waitress duties include greeting guests, taking food and drink orders, serving them, and handling payments. They are also responsible for setting and clearing tables, maintaining a clean dining area, and ensuring customer satisfaction by anticipating needs and addressing complaints. Following health and safety guidelines is a crucial part of the role as well.
Core duties
Guest interaction:
Greet customers, show them to their tables, provide menus, and answer any questions about the menu or specials.Order taking:
Accurately take food and drink orders, communicate them to the kitchen, and verify the customer's age for alcohol orders.Food and beverage service:
Serve all orders promptly and accurately, ensuring food is presentable and drinks are refilled.Payment processing:
Present bills to customers and accurately collect payments.Table and area maintenance
Table preparation:
Set tables with linens, silverware, and glassware before service begins.Clearing and cleaning:
Clear dirty dishes and reset tables after guests depart. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dining area.Job Type: Full-time
