As a waiter/waitress, your primary responsibility is to ensure exceptional dining experiences for guests. You will be the face of the restaurant, providing excellent customer service while serving food and beverages. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Greeting guests warmly upon their arrival and escorting them to their tables.
2. Presenting menus and providing detailed information when asked about menu items, specials, and beverages.
3. Delivering food and beverages to tables in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and presentation.
4. Checking back with guests to ensure satisfaction and promptly addressing any concerns or special requests.
5. Upselling additional items, such as appetizers, desserts, or beverages, to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue.
6. Preparing and serving specialty drinks or cocktails, if required.
7. Handling cash, credit card transactions, and processing payments accurately.
8. Cleaning and setting up tables, ensuring a clean and tidy dining area at all times.
9. Collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely service.
10. Adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
11. Assisting with opening and closing duties, including restocking supplies and cleaning duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a waiter/waitress or in a customer service role, preferably in a restaurant setting.
2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
4. Strong multitasking and time-management skills.
5. Attention to detail and accuracy in order taking and delivering.
6. Basic math skills for processing payments and making change.
7. Knowledge of food and beverage pairings is a plus.
8. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
9. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
10. A positive attitude and a passion for providing exceptional customer service.
