Duties and responsibilities related to the Waiter/Waitress - Banquets role:
Review the
Banquet Event Order (BEO)
to understand the event's specific requirements, timeline, and floor plan.
Prepare the event space by setting up tables, chairs, linens, and meticulously arranging place settings with polished silverware, glassware, and china.
Set up and maintain service stations, beverage stations, and buffet lines before and during the event.
Work as part of a team to deliver
synchronized service
, ensuring all guests at a table are served their courses simultaneously.
Serve plated meals, manage buffet service, and offer beverages (including wine and water service) to guests in a professional and timely manner.
Anticipate and respond to guest needs and requests promptly throughout the event.
Clear dishes, glassware, and cutlery from tables efficiently and discreetly between courses and after the event.
Perform post-event breakdown duties, including clearing the entire venue, stacking tables and chairs, and returning all equipment to storage.
Qualifications
Ideally with a relevant degree or diploma in Hospitality or Tourism management
Minimum 2 years work experience hotel operations
* Good problem solving, administrative and interpersonal skills are a must
