Job Description

A waitress is responsible for delivering high-quality customer service in a restaurant or hospitality setting by ensuring guests have a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience. She welcomes customers in a friendly and professional manner, assists with seating, presents menus, and explains menu items, daily specials, and promotions when required. A waitress accurately takes food and beverage orders, communicates them clearly to the kitchen and bar staff, and serves meals and drinks promptly while maintaining proper presentation standards.

In addition to serving duties, a waitress regularly checks on guests to ensure satisfaction, responds promptly to requests or complaints, and resolves issues politely and efficiently. She is responsible for preparing tables before guests arrive, clearing and resetting tables after meals, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in dining areas in accordance with food safety regulations. Handling bills, operating POS systems, processing cash or card payments, and ensuring correct change is also part of the role.

A waitress works closely with kitchen, bar, and management staff to ensure smooth daily operations. She must follow company policies, health and safety guidelines, and personal grooming standards at all times. The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, physical stamina for long standing hours, and a positive attitude to create a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
