Job Description
Job Summary:
A waiter/waitress is responsible for providing excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for guests. They must be attentive, friendly, and efficient while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- Greet customers warmly and escort them to their tables.
- Present menus, explain daily specials, and answer questions about menu items.
- Take accurate food and drink orders and relay them to the kitchen/bar staff.
- Serve meals and beverages promptly and courteously.
- Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
- Input orders into the POS (Point of Sale) system correctly.
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely service.
- Handle special requests, dietary restrictions, and modifications as needed.
- Present bills, process payments (cash, credit, mobile), and provide change if needed.
- Clear and reset tables efficiently for the next guests.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized dining area.
- Work collaboratively with other waitstaff, hosts, and kitchen staff.
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Adhere to restaurant policies and procedures.
