Job Description

Position Summary:

A Waiter is responsible for delivering excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring that guests enjoy a pleasant dining experience. He must demonstrate professionalism, efficiency, and strong interpersonal skills.

Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Service

Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables when required. Present menus, explain specials, and answer questions about food and beverages. Take accurate orders and input them . Serve meals and drinks promptly and courteously. Address guest requests and resolve concerns professionally.

Dining Area Duties

Prepare tables with linens, cutlery, and glassware. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area. Clear tables and reset them for the next guests. Coordinate with bussers, food runners, and kitchen staff.

Menu Knowledge

Understand all menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods. Offer suggestions and upsell additional items such as desserts, wines, or daily specials.

Billing & Cash Handling

Process payments using cash, card, or other payment methods. Issue receipts and ensure accurate billing.

Teamwork & Coordination

Communicate special dietary needs or requests to the kitchen. Support colleagues during busy service periods. Assist with opening/closing tasks and restocking duties.

Safety & Hygiene

Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards. Follow proper grooming and uniform standards. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor.

Qualifications & Skills

Previous experience as a waiter or in customer service is preferred. Excellent communication and people skills. Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure. Good physical stamina for long shifts. Basic math and POS knowledge. Professional appearance and positive attitude.

Working Conditions
