Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
Greet and seat customers promptly, present menus, and answer questions regarding menu items, specials, and beverages.
Order Taking:
Accurately take customer orders, input them into the POS system, and relay them to the kitchen staff.
Serving:
Deliver food and beverages to customers in a timely manner, ensuring that all orders are correct and meet the cafe's standards.
Table Management:
Monitor tables to anticipate customer needs, provide refills, clear finished dishes, and reset tables for the next guests.
Sales:
Upsell additional products and menu items to enhance the customer experience and increase sales.
Cleanliness:
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the dining area, service stations, and restrooms. Follow all health and safety regulations.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with kitchen staff, baristas, and other team members to ensure efficient and smooth service.
Cash Handling:
Process payments, handle cash and credit transactions, and balance the cash register at the end of the shift.
Problem Resolution:
Address customer complaints and concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues to the manager when necessary.
Requirements:
Experience:
Previous experience as a waiter/waitress in a high-volume cafe or restaurant is preferred.
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong multitasking abilities, and a keen attention to detail.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Appearance:
Professional appearance and adherence to the cafe's dress code.
Availability:
Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
