This is a lead corporate tax and technical role requiring the Job holder to oversee the Group\'s corporation tax platform for all the group entities, in particular the UAE. To plan, lead, and optimise corporate tax efficiencies, mitigate corporation tax risk, and ensure corporation tax reporting and compliance within the bank\'s risk appetite for all the tax jurisdictions in which the Group operates in accordance with relevant Tax Regulations. To be a single point of contact in co-ordinating the Group\'s corporation tax reporting and compliance. To assist the Group Head of Taxation on Global Markets and Investment Banking transactions and ad-hoc projects as requested.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
\xe2\x96\xaa Manage Corporation Tax risk in accordance with wider Group Risk and Tax policies and within the bank\'s risk appetite
\xe2\x96\xaa Oversee and review Corporation annual Tax computations in all countries where the Group operates
\xe2\x96\xaa Update Direct Tax governance policies and procedures manual
\xe2\x96\xaa Keep up to date with changing and new Tax regulations
\xe2\x96\xaa Take ownership and substantiation of all corporation tax related financials within Group\'s consolidated financials
\xe2\x96\xaa For tax advice on all Global markets and Investment Banking transactions
\xe2\x96\xaa Deals with external consultants / advisors wherever required
\xe2\x96\xaa Deals with Tax authority as required on a timely basis

Specific Accountability
\xe2\x96\xaa Responsibility for reviewing the corporation tax position of all entities of the FAB Group operating through branches, subsidiaries and representative offices.
\xe2\x96\xaa Advising on Global Markets and Investment Banking transactions.
\xe2\x96\xaa Keeping up to date with Tax regulation changes and continually accessing the Group\'s corporate tax profile
\xe2\x96\xaa Working and interacting with the business and finance folks by providing corporation tax input into all transactions/products.
\xe2\x96\xaa Working with Financial reporting team ensuring the integrity of all tax numbers (P&L and B/S).
\xe2\x96\xaa Monitoring corporation tax reporting and compliance with local tax laws, and providing an oversight with expert analysis, and decision support.
\xe2\x96\xaa Periodically reviewing and updating Direct Tax policies and procedures with sufficient risk parameters
\xe2\x96\xaa Working with appropriate Group personnel and external advisers to ensure sufficiency of tax compliance.
\xe2\x96\xaa Resolving any direct / corporation tax matters as introduced in the GCC, and overseeing those in international locations e.g. Asia

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification
\xe2\x96\xaa First and Second Degree required
\xe2\x96\xaa CPA / ACA or equivalent Accounting / Tax professional qualification required

Minimum Experience
\xe2\x96\xaa 10years++ Taxation experience across technical disciplines of Corporation tax, international tax, and Market transactional level advisory etc
\xe2\x96\xaa 6++ years in Banks & Capital Markets or Financial Services experience
\xe2\x96\xaa Must have worked in more than two countries / continents
\xe2\x96\xaa Proven ability in managing teams across jurisdictions
\xe2\x96\xaa Good knowledge of accounting ledger / systems e.g. Oracle, SAP etc
\xe2\x96\xaa Good knowledge of Tax IT systems and use of bank source systems
\xe2\x96\xaa Strong communication and interpersonal skills
\xe2\x96\xaa Attention to detail
\xe2\x96\xaa Self-starter and very motivated
\xe2\x96\xaa Ability to handle pressure and tight timeframes
\xe2\x96\xaa Ability to work in an unstructured environment and respectful to different ethnicities
\xe2\x96\xaa Having negotiation skills
\xe2\x96\xaa Able to record issues and propose solutions
