Job Description

Overview

+ Perform periodic/non-periodic maintenance to all the 11kV Substations.

Responsibilities

+ Preparation of Monthly and Annual Preventive Maintenance plans of substations according to SOP.

+ Overall supervision and execution of Substations Monthly Preventive Maintenance.

+ Preparation and submission of Monthly Preventive Maintenance reports of substations.

+ Preparation of all Power Outage Requests for the electrical department, enlisting all the building numbers that would be affected due to the outage.

+ Coordinating with PWD regarding the requested outage and altering the outage date and/or time if required.

+ Coordinating with Power-Gen Team to arrange Generators for required panels which supply to important facilities or utilities.

+ Implement QHSE and Safety policies in site activities, ensuring the safety of employees and equipment.

+ Checking the status of the substations in advance, ensuring no threats while performing 11kV switching operations.

+ Always observing proper PPE for self and other team members.

+ Performing all 11kV High Voltage Switching operations on substation RMUs and inside the Consumer Intake.

+ Preparation and submission of the planned 11kV Switching Operation Instructions and obtaining approval from required personnel.

+ Overall supervision and execution of Substations Annual Preventive Maintenance.

+ Preparation of SOW for subcontractors and coordinating with them for any clarifications or site visits.

+ Collecting and submitting oil samples from Transformers for testing as a part of the annual Preventive Maintenance and following up for test reports.

+ Preparation and submission of Annual PM report along with oil test reports.

+ Analyzing the substations to ensure conformity to standard quality and regulation.

+ Preparation of corrective maintenance plan in order to eradicate minor or significant defects.

+ Overall supervision and execution of Substations Corrective Maintenance.

+ Implementing IEC and NEC Standards in all electrical works and ensuring that it is practiced by the entire electrical department.

+ Ensuring that all electrical works are being carried out as per SOP and Deliverables are being followed.

+ Verify that all the steps that are being followed are as per the contract for all electrical works.

+ Following all requirements as per the Performance Work Statement.

Qualifications

+ Minimum Qualifications

+ Education/Certifications:

+ 10 years' of related experience along with 4 years of education required.

+ High Voltage Switching Authorization certified by Electricity Distribution Directorate, EWA.

+ Education/Experience Requirements:

+ Must have a High School diploma or equivalent, Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.

+ Must have ten (10) years of experience in local 11kV Substation works.

+ Must pass Controlled Movement Area flight line driving test upon arrival to the site.

+ Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.

+ Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc.

+ Skills:

+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.

+ This is a fast-paced working environment. These skills are vitally important for success in this position as this position is confronted with situations daily that require these skills along with flexibility, quick action, and extreme vigilance for safety.
