Your Mission

Viory is currently seeking a highly motivated and proactive Video Journalist. In this role, requires a combination of journalistic rigor and technical video editing skills. The ideal candidate will instantly recognize must-have video content and be able to turn that footage into a professional package for our clients - and at speed!

If you can watch a video file and see exactly which part is the most valuable from a visual point of view; the worthiest of highlighting; and the most desirable acquisition for media outlets aiming to draw their audiences\xe2\x80\x99 attention - then we want to hear from you.

Your Main Tasks

• Visualize the finished product, before sourcing footage or monitoring live transmissions, cutting accurately and quickly, checking video quality and sound, and fixing any technical issues. You should also be able to recognize any potential copyright/ legal issues that might arise.
• Generate impactful headlines, transcribe and/or translate significant soundbites, and author precise, legally sound text to accompany the package, swiftly conveying to our clients not just its contents but also its vital significance for their needs.
• Demonstrate your expertise across a spectrum of renowned and lesser-known news platforms, adeptly delving into sources, while astutely identifying and highlighting emerging stories ahead of our rivals.
• Utilize your proficient video editing software skills, coupled with newsroom experience, to excel in a dynamic, high-pressure news environment as a valuable video editor

Your Skills

To be successful at this position, we think you should to have:

• Possession of a journalism or politics degree, or a relevant qualification, is essential.
• Native English speakers required; knowledge of Arabic or any other languages is a plus.
• Exhibit exceptional news judgment capabilities.
• Demonstrate proficiency in video editing.
• Ability to multitask is imperative.
• Positive mindset and exceptional communication skills.
• Ownership mentality and proactive approach.
• Availability for shifts including nights and weekends is required.
