An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Human Resources senior leader. We are currently recruiting for a Vice President of Human Resources for the MEIA Region, based out of Dubai with a regional remit.

Reporting to the Regional Co-Heads, this role will provide human resources leadership, guidance and expertise to the region. The Vice President Human Resources will be responsible for leading the HR strategy in order to drive business optimization. In this role, the VPHR will be accountable for all human resources related activities. The successful candidate is expected to influence their stakeholders and drive the business agenda to improve operational results and strategic results in the capacity of leadership development, employee relations, talent management, workforce planning and engagement. He/She will be responsible for enhancing the effectiveness of the organization by implementing the group and regional strategy. In order to achieve this the VPHR must work effectively with the leadership team and subordinates, as well as partnering the business and providing HR support to functional and regional heads. The suitable candidate must have experience within a matrixed organization and have the ability to work across functions, direct and indirect providing influence without necessary oversight.

The successful candidate must be a seasoned human resources practitioner operating at a senior level, He/She must be able to demonstrate capabilities in developing and leveraging HR metrics to guide HR effectiveness as well as demonstrating the ability to leverage key performance indicators to drive organizational success.

Success Criteria:
  • Ability to develop and implement local HR initiatives that support the overall Shangri-La Group strategy.
  • Partner with the business to drive operational success and performance
  • Demonstrate in depth knowledge in functional HR areas, Industrial relations, employee relations, compensation and benefits, talent acquisition, training and organizational development.
  • Provides insights and key HR data to the region and senior leaders
  • Provides consultative support and partners the business
  • Ability to act as in internal coach and mentor, providing a framework for others to grow and develop. Supporting direct/indirect reports by helping them identify and resolve issues, encouraging excellent leadership practices, anticipating challenges and an understanding of the employee perspective.
  • Identify themes and trends and develop creative solutions

  • Evident leadership skills; a demonstrated record of building strong teams, setting high performance standards and a coaching environment.
  • Transparent and open approach with impeccable integrity, reinforcing the Shangri-La values. Own words and actions must continually reinforce these values.
  • Displays genuine credibility and comfortable dealing with colleagues at all levels
  • Exceptional communication skills; experienced and effective in interacting with senior executives and line management at all levels.
