Carry out routine servicing, preventive maintenance, and repairs of company vehicles and equipment.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults and ensure timely rectification.
Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and comply with company and legal standards.
2. Fleet Management
Maintain records of all vehicles, including service history, mileage, fuel usage, and repairs.
Plan and schedule periodic maintenance to minimize breakdowns and downtime.
Monitor vehicle performance and recommend replacement or major repairs when required.
3. Workshop & Tools Control
Manage workshop operations, tools, spare parts, and equipment.
Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of tools and machinery.
Maintain inventory of spare parts and raise requests for replenishment.
4. Supervision & Coordination
Supervise mechanics, helpers, and drivers assigned to the fleet.
Allocate daily work and ensure tasks are completed on time.
Coordinate with site engineers, transport teams, and management regarding vehicle availability.
5. Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company safety policies.
Conduct safety inspections and ensure safe working practices in the workshop.
Ensure vehicles comply with traffic rules, registration, insurance, and permits.
6. Cost Control
Monitor maintenance costs and reduce unnecessary expenses.
Obtain quotations for spare parts and repairs and ensure cost-effective solutions.
Prevent misuse and negligence through regular checks and awareness.
7. Breakdown & Emergency Response
Attend vehicle breakdowns promptly and arrange on-site or workshop repairs.
Coordinate recovery of damaged or immobilized vehicles when required.
Provide technical support during emergencies.
8. Reporting & Documentation
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and breakdown reports.
Report recurring faults, accidents, or misuse to management.
Maintain inspection checklists and job cards.
9. Vendor & External Workshop Coordination
Liaise with external garages, suppliers, and service providers.
Monitor outsourced repair work and ensure quality and timely completion.
10. Continuous Improvement
Train drivers on basic vehicle care and fault reporting.
Suggest improvements to enhance vehicle efficiency, safety, and lifespan.
