Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Benefits Specialist to join our team in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting employees across the organization by administering benefit programs, answering employee questions, and ensuring accurate, compliant benefits processes. This position requires strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a genuine passion for providing exceptional employee support. --- Key Responsibilities Benefits Administration Manage day-to-day administration of employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans. Process new hire enrollments, qualifying life events, and annual open-enrollment updates. Maintain accurate records in HRIS/benefits systems and coordinate with payroll to ensure correct deductions. Employee Support Serve as the primary contact for employee benefit inquiries, providing clear, timely, and empathetic assistance. Educate employees on available benefits, eligibility rules, and plan features. Assist employees with claim resolutions, coverage clarifications, and vendor escalations. Compliance & Reporting Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, and ERISA. Prepare and maintain required documentation, forms, and reports. Support audits and ensure data accuracy across all benefits platforms. Vendor & Plan Coordination Communicate with insurance carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators regarding enrollments, terminations, claims, and billing. Review monthly invoices and reconcile discrepancies. Support benefit plan evaluations, renewals, and improvements. --- Qualifications 1-3+ years of experience in benefits administration, HR support, or a related field. Strong knowledge of common benefit programs and related laws/regulations. Experience using HRIS/benefits systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, UKG, Paycom, BambooHR). Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills. High attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive employee information confidentially. Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment, managing time and tasks effectively. --- Work Environment 100% remote (US-based or international depending on employer needs).
