Van salesmen sell company goods and merchandise directly from their company van or truck. Their duties include identifying new sales opportunities, informing regular customers of new products, and meeting sales targets. A van salesman may also deliver orders and collect payments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Driving a van and selling products to customers as per the allocated journey plan.
Delivering purchase orders and informing existing customers of new products.
Increasing sales by promoting products and analyzing competitor behavior.
Updates his supervisor with the requested reports accurately and on-time, i.e., competitive activities, distribution and pricing studies, daily sales reports.
Accounting for the safe and timeous delivery of purchased products.
Maintaining sales and delivery records, as well as meeting sales targets and completion of assigned tasks.
Liaising with other departments to ensure optimal customer services.
Preventing damage to the delivery van and the company products being transported.
Ensuring the cleanliness of the interior and the exterior of the van.
Performing basic van maintenance tasks and ensuring scheduled service is performed.
Responsible for collecting payments.
Ensure all permits related to operation are valid and report two months in advance for renewal.
Willingness to travel to different locations and work at flexible hours
Adhere to the allocated journey plan and ensure prior approval is obtained from the supervisor in case of attending unplanned calls.
